So what is the reason why it is important for businesses to do data warehousing? First of all, it is very helpful for the business in carrying some server related tasks in terms of reporting. This task will also report information about the tasks on servers not used in the processing systems to ensure consistent monitoring.

Apart from the server maintenance with the reports, it will also be possible for the business to try out the applications themselves with the use of models and technologies that will help in increasing the report processing and queries rates. Because of this, it will result to increased document processing for the business so data will be prepared for them in no time.

Because of all this information, it is now possible for them to do an easier maintenance job. One of the good points of data warehousing when it comes to documentation is that it will also be possible for them to get even the external data that will aid them in coming up with accurate decisions for their business.

But of course, it is important to take note of the business’ security so that data warehousing can also do that job for them. This will make it possible for them to control how the data will be accessed. For example, there are files that can only be accessed through a certain medium like the internet. Because of this, they are assured that authorized people are the only ones who can access the data.

As a conclusion, it is made true that data warehousing can be really important for the business. It will help lead the business to further expansion and stability.

How To Know If You Should Get A Pay As You Go Phone

Brad Davidson | February 28, 2010

When it comes to choosing a cell phone, you have many options. However, the two most popular options are pay as you go phones or phones that require a contract. If you don’t already know, a getting a contract means you will need to pay a monthly fee even if you do not use up all the minutes that you are paying for. With a pay as you go phone you only pay for the amount you need. In this article we are going to be going over some of the pros and cons of each.

Contract Phones-The Advantages

The price of the actual phone can be a huge advantage when you get a contract phone. With most companies, when you sign a contract with them, they will allow you to get a new phone either for free or for a very large discount that will save you hundreds of dollars. If you are wanting to get a phone that cost a lot of money then paying for a contract is a good idea. Another great thing about using a contract with a company is that you will know in advance how much you will need to each month. This is not always the case when you are using a pay as you go phone.

Pay as you go cell phones-The Advantages

We mentioned earlier that you will not always know the amount of money you have to pay each month with a pay as you go cell phone, but that is ok because it is still usually cheaper than when you use a contract phone. One of the best things about using a pay as you go mobile phone is that you can get one without even using a credit card. This means that if you have bad credit you will still be able to get yourself a cell phone. With contract phones, they will not allow you to get one if you have bad credit.

About Manic Depression

Owen Jones | February 28, 2010

‘Manic Depression’, or ‘Bipolar Disorder’, is considered one of the most severe kinds of depression people regularly suffer from. It is characterized by sudden and extreme mood swings. Manic depression is so-named because manic means ‘mania’, which refers to the ‘ups’ while depression refers to the ‘downs’. Bi-polar also refers to both ends of the spectrum of emotions

A lot of people experience erratic changes in their moods and, sometimes, these so-called mood swings are not just because of PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome) or stress. Doctors have diagnosed mood swings as a frequent symptom of depression, if these mood swings become severe. For instance, if someone becomes annoyed because a shop does not have his favourite biscuits, it may only a sign of a spoilt brat, but when getting annoyed also means that that person will shout and swear at the shop keeper, it could be the onset of Manic Depression.

The ‘manic’ times or ‘ups’ in Manic Depression (or Bi-polar Disorder) are described as the times when a person suffering from Manic Depression experiences extremely high periods, consisting of heightened energy, sudden outbursts of euphoric mood, extreme irritability, together with racing thoughts and aggressive behaviour. According to therapists, someone suffering from Manic Depression may have these so-called manic ‘periods’ not only for a day or so, they can actually go on for a week or more.

During these so-called ‘low’ or ‘down’ periods, people who are suffering from Manic Depression may experience very similar symptoms to those who are suffering from ‘normal’ depression. People who are suffering from Manic Depression will experience periods of a depressed frame of mind – including abject feelings of worthlessness and being unloved.

There are various other symptoms too: guilt, extreme sadness, anxiety attacks, feeling of not belonging, extreme pessimism and an obvious loss of happiness. According to therapists, an individual who is depressed constantly for more than a week can officially be diagnosed as someone who is suffering from Manic Depression.

In spite of it being one of the most common and severe kinds of depressive disorder, Manic Depression can be successfully treated, according to therapists. There’s no reason to worry too much about having it. You only need to follow the procedures that the therapist gives you and take the prescribed medicine in the correct dosage in order to help you (or your friend or love one) overcome Manic Depression before it becomes a dangerous risk to the sufferer’s life by suicide.

Also, people who suffer from Manic Depression should visit their therapists regularly, in order to be able to release their repressed emotions to someone who is able interpret just what it is they are going through a lot better than an ordinary, untrained person.

Although positive results for Manic Depression can be achieved from natural alternatives, a proper and a more lasting relief from Manic Depressive symptoms can best be achieved through seeing a cognitive behaviour therapist. Contrary to some beliefs, when it comes to psychiatric treatments, psychiatrists, preferably cognitive behaviour therapists are still the best ones to consult for a permanent cure for Manic Depression.

Features Of A Good Ergonomic Chair

Owen Jones | February 28, 2010

It is more important to use an ergonomic chair whenever you can nowadays than ever before. This is because our bodies were not intended to sit for hours at a time in front of a desk or TV, and yet more and more people are finding themselves doing it.

Sitting continuously for hours puts strain on the muscles in the back and can eventually cause the body to suffer work-related injuries. The use of an ergonomic chair minimizes the strain that the body experiences while sitting for prolonged periods.

However, not all chairs are what they say they are and this is particularly true of ergonomic chairs. Some manufacturers call their products ergonomic chairs just to capture a share in a premium market, where people are suffering from pain caused by strain on the lower back, the neck, the arms, the legs and on the shoulders. A real ergonomic chair is designed to minimize this pain.

So, how can you tell if an ergonomic chair is really an ergonomic chair? A true ergonomic chair has the following elements:

Seat height: An ergonomic chair should be fitted with a mechanism that allows you to regulate its height while you are sitting on it. If your knees are level and your feet are flat on the floor, while you are sitting on the ergonomic chair, it means that its height is right for you. Also, you should be able to reach the adjusting mechanism of the seat and operate it even if you are sitting down.

Foot rest: Ergonomic chairs do not require a foot rest. If the height of the chair can be adjusted easily and allow you to place your feet flat on the ground while you are seated, then a foot rest is not essential. However, if your table is too high in relation to your chair and if having your feet flat on the floor means you have to strain your arms, then a foot rest is needed so you can rest your feet comfortably without causing strain to your legs.

Seat pan: The seat pan of your ergonomic chair should be wide enough to fit your hips and thighs without pinching you in any way. It should also be contoured so your weight can be spread evenly on it. In addition, the seat pan should be long enough to fit your legs. If it is too long, it will hit the back of your knees and stop you from leaning back comfortably.

Seat cushioning: The cushioning of an ergonomic chair should be sufficient for it not to become deformed after you have been using it for a while. If the cushioning is not thick enough, the seat of the chair can get deformed permanently and it will become uncomfortable for you to sit on after a while. Later on, it will just lead you to experience pain on your back and thighs.

In addition, you should choose seat covers that breathe freely and are easy to clean. Such seat covers will not feel hot and uncomfortable against your thighs after sitting on the chair for a long time. Airy seat covers also mean that they will not be a breeding ground for dust mites.

Back support: The back rest of a good ergonomic chair should be adjustable to fit the curve of your lower back so that it can provide you with lumbar support. This is very important, especially if you will not be the exclusive user of the chair. Moreover, the back rest should be wide and tall enough to support your mid-back and your upper back as well.

Armrests: The armrests of a good ergonomic chair should be moulded to fit the arms, broad enough to provide ample support, and can be adjusted upward and downward as well as inward or outward. The armrests of the ergonomic chair should let the arms and elbows rest naturally, without making you lean forward or lift your shoulders.

Pedestal base: If mobility in your chair is vital to your work, then you should get an ergonomic chair that has a five pedestal base with casters that can let you glide easily over the floor. A five pedestal base will also give enough balance so that the chair will not tip over when you lean back.

Always look for these features when buying an ergonomic chair for your home or your office. They will prevent your body from receiving injuries brought about by incessant strain to the muscles.

Merchant Credit Card Processing: What It Is And How It Can Help You

Moses Malcom | February 28, 2010

The Internet retail business is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. As online businesses continue to boom, so does the need for merchant service providers. The millions of customers and billions of dollars that access the Internet play a major role in economies around the world. Servicing each and every one of these transactions through merchant credit card processing can be a daunting task. What makes online retail so enticing is the ease of running the online enterprise.

Internet merchant services is a term used to define the providers of services allowing customers to accept credit cards from customers on websites, over the phone or through other venues. These service providers often provide a wonderful convenience for shoppers and retailers alike. With easy to use Internet transactions, customers will be more likely to return. Making merchant credit card processing available can boost sales and profitability.

Studies have shown that shoppers want convenience. When limited payment options are available to shoppers, they tend to migrate toward places of business that offer flexibility of payment. The days of “cash only” transactions has been buried. Having merchant credit card processing services available will attract buyers. When you attract more buyers, you attract more earnings.

Another great benefit of using merchant credit card processing is that more income can be generated with fewer customers. Surveys suggest that people who shop with a credit card tend to spend more money than those who shop with cash or checking accounts. As the availability of credit card payments increases, it is likely that more customers will shop and that they will spend more with their credit cards.

Ever since the debit card, retailers have been fortunate to be able to accept checking account payments with instant clearance of the funds. When a Visa or MasterCard debit card is used, it is treated just like a credit card. The merchant credit card processing systems sees these debit cards just like a regular credit card. It is a more secure way to accept payments from checking accounts.

To mention last, merchant credit card processing is economical. When customers have compared the minimal expense of having this service to the additional profits gained, it becomes more of an asset than a liability. The more customers that you can attract to your business, the more successful your business can be. Don’t be stuck in the days of yester-year. Make a merchant credit card processing system part of your Internet business now.

Learn more about superior merchant services. Stop by PayLeap where you can find out all about our merchant credit card processing and how we can help your Internet business.

Fast Facts About Your Computers

Javier Kreis | February 28, 2010

We are part of the fast-evolving computer era and technological advances; especially in computers which are being introduced regularly. In fact, most of modern society has or encounters computers on a daily basis, despite the fact that they might only have very basic knowledge of the inner workings and lingo of computers.

Case in point the term PC or personal computer, which is the most used lingo, yet the least understood. Basically, people think that PCs are those things that are made up of hardware and software that are seen in houses, school labs and offices. These machines are used for data input and storage, as well as input and storage of videos, audio and pictures and for going on the internet too.

Way back in the day, the PC was a huge, rigid and bulky thing placed on the floor of a large room. The modern times brought about a smaller version of this machine which can easily fit on any flat surface, such as a desk; hence the term desktop computer.

The thing is that PCs are not merely the desktop computers, like a lot of people seem to think. The term PC also means the other machines that serve the same purpose as the desktop PCs but are more mobile.

These smaller machines are the laptop computers, notebooks and palm pilots that can easily fit into bags and be taken anywhere. Additionally, the term PC is also used to describe the other even more compact and capable machines that are being invented as we speak.

Another common computer term: servers. Servers actually have a lot of definitions and functions. The most common is the file server, which is a computer that is connected to a network of other computers. It serves to allow the users of the other PCs to access and even store files into it from anywhere in the world.

On the other hand, network servers are machines that are designed to process and also to deliver information to the other connected computers through the use of a local network scheme or through the use of an internet connection. These network servers are also capable of dealing with the probable massive user load through its processing, memory and storage configurations. The web server and proxy server are common kinds of a network server.

Another is a business server, which has been configured to handle business functions. This machine features connections to fax machines, printers, mobile support, remote connectivity, restore options and business intranet.

Did you know Lee Martin has been in the computer business since PCS were in homes. Lee is works on servers and server rooms to find efficiencies in established networks. Click here to get your own unique version of this article with free reprint rights.

Explaining Solar PV Training – Where To Go

Jason Kendall | February 28, 2010

In a nutshell, ‘Green Energy’ utilises natural resources such as sunlight, wind, tides and geothermal heat to provide our daily energy requirement. They are considered ‘Green’ because they are environmentally friendly. It is easy to think that we may be travelling back in time when we think of items such as wind power and windmills. However, it is the result of eco-efficient and planet friendly options that this process is maintained.

In the home environment, one can see examples such as Solar Thermal and Solar Water Heating Collectors. Moving on from this there are the Photovoltaic Panels (PV’s) which can generate electricity from your roof. Equally important is that of Biomass Energy – which includes Stoves, Fuel, Pellets and Boilers burning Wood. We now also have Ground Source Heat Pumps – which draw out the heat left by the Sun. Not all ‘Green Energy’ is new – by considering Wind Power and Hydropower we are looking at some of the oldest forms of energy production.

Solar Energy Systems: Often called Solar Energy, this is fact based on two types of solar panels each using different ideas to get their results. Initially, there is the process of obtaining hot water from the Sun via Solar Water Heating Collectors. Additionally, there is the method of converting solar radiation into electricity known as Photovoltaic – or simply Solar Electrical panels. Solar Panels themselves need to be away from all light blocks, and should be on south facing roofs at angles of 30 degrees from the horizontal plane.

Within Solar Energy overall, Solar Water Power is most commonly used in the UK. With the capacity to deliver 50 percent plus of a household’s hot water requirement annually, Solar Water heating systems are crucial to energy in the UK. Typically, to fit this type of equipment will cost between 500 and 1500 pounds for a DIY kit – all the way up to 2-5k for a full professional fitting.

Biomass Energy: This term encompasses all forms of natural products – such as plant and animal material. Considering its ability to produce energy in the form of heat and electricity, this type of energy is extremely flexible. Furthermore, within the European Markets, the UK is one of the central producers of Biomass fuels. One of the main factors of this style of energy is the result without the impact on C02. To that end, many wood crops come from sustainable sources (as one tree is felled, another is planted in its place; thus the new tree absorbs the CO2 produced during the heating process.)

Within this field is the need for the use of ‘Energy Crops’, such as fast growing trees, e.g. Willow and Poplar or other entities grown on a Short Rotation Coppice (SRC). Of equal importance is the production of perennial grasses – because of their yield of dry matter. Other less known materials within this field are Agricultural and Municipal Waste. To begin with, Agricultural Waste is often produced as part of the agricultural process overall. Municipal Waste such as food or wood can also be utilised as a biomass product.

Systems Based On Geo-Thermal Energy: By naturally heating the Earth, the Sun has the potential to generate both warm water and electricity. Using the ground temperature of around 12 degrees in the UK – we can both heat and cool buildings. These heat pumps do need some power to operate; but for every one unit of energy they use, they generate four units of energy in return. This system can go even further – if energy efficient items such as wind turbines or solar electrical panels are used.

Wind Energy Programs: In use for milling grain or pumping water, wind energy has been with us for a very long time, although its modern uses are complex. However, in more recent times there’s been the option to recover the energy for its own sake – and deliver this either to a home unit or to the local power grid. The UK is considered as one of the best sources of wind generation within Europe. Potentially, we can produce 10 percent of our annual energy needs through wind power, although at present within the UK we still only use 1 percent. Frankly, electricity can be realised from as little as 2p per kWh – as opposed to the current level of 2-10 p per kWh. Recovery of the cost involved is somewhere between 6-9 months.

Then there is Hydropower – something within Europe that the UK excels in. Although new in its approach, the act of harnessing energy from water has been going on for a long time. In total, this could produce something like 2 percent of all electricity required in the UK.

The Hydropower process uses a turbine that can convert the energy from one form into another. It is by either water ‘drop-offs’, or Natural River runs, that turbines can work through this process. ‘Micro-Hydro’ utilises a chunk of the outdated sluices and dam systems that have been killed off by the large national distribution methods. Whilst considered a smaller form of electrical output, this system is thought to be able to give some 200mW of capacity to the UK. Between 200 pounds and 3k per KW of energy output, is a good estimate of the overall cost of a project such as this.

It can be seen that the route to ‘Green Energy’ is growing considerably, especially in light of the need for increasing energy outputs throughout the Western World. The UK domestic market appears to be one of the core beneficiaries of this technology.

Electrician and Plumbers are thought to be key in providing expertise during domestic installations. It is the political view of this type of energy generation that results in grants and financial aid becoming ever-more prevalent. Gaining installation certification across these areas can only provide further opportunity and job security to anyone already in related fields or looking to retrain. To cover both ends, you could consider electrical or plumbing training along with green systems.
